Robert F. Morgan was born in Helena, Montana in 1929 and his artwork is infused with love of the history and the nature that characterizes his native State.
As a lover of history, he seeks to preserve it in the ever-changing world of contemporary society.
Morgan graduated from Helena High School in 1947 and began working in advertising and display. After a stint in the Montana National Guard, he took a position with the the Montana Historical Society as curator and acting director. In the 1970s, he resigned his position to center his efforts on producing fine art as a full-time occupation.
Morgan says, " To research and interpret on canvas is to leave a legacy for others to enjoy and know what happened in the creation of this civilization. There is no greater place to do this than Montana."
His work is now distributed through the Historical Society and he is repeatedly featured at the annual C.M. Russell Western Art Auction.
